Lisa Wakabayashi Appointed as AWGs (Animal Welfare Goals) Ambassador!

I am honored to announce that I have been appointed as an Ambassador for AWGs (Animal Welfare Goals) — a project led by the public interest organization Animal Donation (Anidone).

AWGs is a forward-looking initiative that aims to elevate Japan’s animal welfare standards to a world-class level. It promotes the health and well-being of animals while working toward a more sustainable and compassionate society — a critical step toward a future where humans and animals can truly coexist.

This appointment recognizes my ongoing commitment to animal welfare through policy proposals in the Setagaya City Assembly, as well as my hands-on work within the local community.

While Japan’s current animal welfare landscape still faces many challenges, awareness and understanding remain limited.
AWGs offers a clear and accessible framework for addressing these issues — encouraging people to learn, reflect, and take action together.

Moving forward, I will continue to collaborate with the Anidone team and all those dedicated to animal welfare, working to create real and lasting change through the AWGs platform.

What Are AWGs?

AWGs (Animal Welfare Goals) are like SDGs — but for animals.
They outline 13 specific goals designed from the animal’s perspective, aiming to build a society where animals can live happily and healthily.
By raising awareness and promoting practical solutions, AWGs help foster dialogue and drive collective action for a better future for all living beings.
